5 Asian-American DJs Making Waves in EDM

Jetset LA’s Party and EDM guru Bryan Gosling shares his FAVE FIVE Asian-American DJs making waves in the EDM/House music scene: 

1. Steve Aoki

The Crazy Japanese Jesus known for his insane live sets where he sprays champagne, throws cakes, and crowd surfs on a river raft.  This elctro-house musician is also Grammy-nominated and produced under his own record label Dim Mak Studios.

 2. TOKiMONSTA

A Korean-American electronic music producer, recording artist, and DJ from the LA area. She blends her unique indie background into the EDM scene. She is ranked as #1 female DJ in the LA area.

3. Shogun

The Taiwanese-American trance DJ is the first Asian DJ to sign with Armada (Armin Van Buren’s music label). In 2012, he was ranked 68th in DJ Mag’s TOP 100 DJs.

 4. Ken Loi

Originally from San Francisco, this Progressive/House/Electro producer/DJ has developed a name for himself by playing along-side Tiesto, Dada Life, Armin Van Buren, Fedde Le Grand, and Benny Benassi. Ken from a young age has been classically trained in piano, which explains his raw talent as an up-and-coming DJ.

 5. Henry Fong

If you love dreadlocks and EDM, Henry is your guy. This DJ/producer has had a single with Makj on Beatport’s top 10 list. 2014 is the year of the Fong. He has had the support of many top DJs such as Dada Life, Skrillex, Bingo Players and many more. He’s going to be playing at one of the biggest festivals in the US (Ultra Music Festival), so definitely keep your eye out for Henry.
