The 2014 Kollaboration season will kick off with Kollaboration Seattle’s first ever spring show this upcoming Saturday, April 12 at the Meydenbauer Center Theatre in Bellevue, WA. Check out below for the scoop on the finalists who will be performing at this Saturday’s show!
EMMA (Suhr, Paul Mun, Daniel Cha, Nathan Cho)
EMMA started as a casual get together between four longtime friends. Bringing the musical stylings of shoegaze, punk, post-rock, folk, jazz, EDM into one sound, these four friends realized they’d just created a completely new sound and emotional experience through their music. With over 35 years of combined music and performance experience, EMMA is ready to take the stage for the first time.
Nufangled (Noel Young, James Carey, Neil Austin, Michael Belvin)
Originally formed as the Young Relics, lead vocalist Noel Young and drummer Michael Belvin were joined by longtime friend Neil Austin on bass and James Carey as lead guitarist to form Nufangled. The four members of the local band have been playing together around the Seattle area with their bluesy rock music combined with accents of funk.
CDQ
CDQ is a beatboxer born and raised in Malaysia. He’s been beatboxing since the age of 16, competing in various competitions in both Malaysia and Seattle. Over the years, he’s learned different styles of beatboxing, including old school, new school, dupstep, trap and electronic music in general. He’s worked with many local and international artists, and in the future, he wishes to collaborate with more.
Jett Hermano
Born and raised in Seattle, Jett began private voice lessons at the tender age of 10, competed in talent shows in middle school and won national songwriting competitions two years in a row during high school. She’s appeared on “American Idol” Season 12, as the first from the Filipino-American community of Seattle as well as Viewer’s Choice Winner on KIRO-7 Seattle’s local televised show, “Seattle’s Stars”. She released her first album through Seattle’s local entertainment group “Batallion” in 2006 and received local radio play from Spirit 105.3 as well as KISS Satellite Radio.
Tati & Adry
Tati & Adry are an acoustic duo based in Vancouver, BC. They are high school students inspired by contrasting genres: Punk-rock and pop. They recently started a YouTube channel, covering their favourite songs as well as Top 40 hits. The two are passionate musicians, and their goal is for their audience to enjoy their music as much as they love playing it!
